Tenants at the Empire State Building now have access to a free dedicated bicycle storage room enabling them to reduce greenhouse gases while biking to work.

While plans for a vehicle-free 34th Street at the building’s doorstep have been wisely shelved, the city still expects to create as many as 1,800 miles of bike lanes by 2030 and wants to encourage people to bike to work.

The opening of the ESB’s card access bike storage is part of the building’s leadership focus on green initiatives and will enable its tenants to adopt their own sustainable practices.
