The ultra lux retailer, Hermes, has just leased a prominent storefront at Brookfield Place, the company confirmed.

We’ve learned the Paris-based company’s boutique will be placed just to the left of the new giant glass-boxed entry way off West Street as the escalators emerge upwards from the East-West Connector of the World Trade Center. Valet parking is close by at Vesey St.

According to floor plans, the store is one of the largest at 6,354 square feet, but no one would confirm the footage. A Hermes spokesman told us it will announce its plans in the future.

Hermes was represented by Laura Pomerantz of her eponymous company, while Brookfield was represented by the McDevitt Company.

According to Ed Hogan, who heads leasing for Brookfield and declined to discuss deal specifics, asking rents in the newly reimagined shopping areas range from $350 to $450 a square foot, depending on size and location.

Pomerantz, who also declined to discuss deal specifics, said Brookfield understands and is merchandising and creating an environment that will support contemporary, aspirational and luxury tenancies.
