Luxury watch and jewelry store Wempe and chocolatier Lindt have just split a 42-foot Fifth Avenue storefront at The Rolex Building at the southeast corner of East 53rd Street.

According to Robin Abrams of The Lansco Corp., who represented Rolex, the asking rent for the 665 Fifth Ave. store — on a divided basis — was $2,400 a square foot.

Wempe will lease 1,650 square feet on the ground and an additional 1,277 square feet on the lower level selling floor. The 15-year lease has a five-year option.

Wempe currently has a store up the street at 700 Fifth Ave. with another couple of years left on its lease. But sources said they saw it as a “good opportunity” to get a great location on Fifth Avenue.

Lindt will be moving into 1,200 square feet with a 400-square-foot lower level.

Abrams was joined by Lansco colleague Alan Victor and Frank W. Gallo of Core Plus Partners.
