Retailer Anthropologie is digging into an Upper East Side location with a 15,000-square-foot deal for the northwest corner of Third Avenue and 71st Street.

Along the same retail stretch, the 4,000 square-foot corner at 72nd Street has been leased to TD Bank. The asking rent was $300 a foot.

The entire retail block front between East 71st and East 72nd Streets at the base of the Tower East cooperative had been vacant since the leases were allowed to expire on the former Lowe’s movie theater, a Victoria’s Secret and the Super Runners Shop.

“We replaced them with excellent retailers,” said Gene Spiegelman of Cushman & Wakefield, who represented the co-op board along with Michael O’Neill. C&W broker Joanne Podell represented TD Bank.

Anthropologie was brought to the deal by Stephen Plourde of McDevitt & Co. along with Beth Rosen of Robert K. Futterman & Associates. When it opens it will be its fourth Manhattan store.
