Mauboussin, the oldest Parisian luxury jeweler, is returning to New York for the first time since closing its showrooms following Wall Street’s crash of 1929, opening a new U.S. flagship at 714 Madison Ave. next year.

Current tenant Shanghai Tang will be vacating the space after the holidays.

“It has great presence and great frontage,” said Amira Yunis of Newmark Knight Frank of the 8,400 square foot, elevator-equipped townhouse which had an asking rent of $2 million per year.

Yunis represented the French tenant in the deal made directly with owners Jed and Leslie Garfield of Leslie J. Garfield & Co.
