Tiffany & Co. and Brooks Brothers are looking to expand their presence in Manhattan, The Post has learned.

The jeweler is looking to open a store on the Upper East Side and might land in a landmarked building at 708 Madison Ave. at 63rd Street that was once home to a Bank of New York branch.

The property became available after J.P. Morgan Chase acquired BoNY last year. Chase already had a branch near the BoNY site. Tiffany spokeswoman Linda Buckley said flatly, “There is no truth to the report we have taken space at 708.”

Brokers nevertheless say Tiffany has been touring available space along Madison Avenue because its customers often complain that the flagship Fifth Avenue store is overcrowded with tourists.

Madison Avenue is already home to numerous jewelers such as Graff, Bulgari and Kwiat.

“Madison Avenue is for true shoppers, both well-heeled locals and international visitors, and it’s where people do serious buying,” said Faith Hope Consolo, chairman of Prudential Douglas Elliman’s retail division and who is not involved in Tiffany’s search.

Meanwhile, Brooks Brothers is tying up a deal for a large store in Glenwood Management’s luxury residential rental at 1930 Broadway, the Grand Tier, on the southeast corner of 65th Street. Calls to Brooks Brothers and its leasing agent were not returned by press time.
