A tenant that signed a five-year lease in 2016 at 90 Park Ave. is nearly quadrupling its space — thanks to a blog post.

San Francisco investment bank Financial Technology Partners has now extended and expanded into the entire 16th floor, or 26,322 square feet. It is currently located on a 6,500-square-foot portion on the 25th floor.

Lance Leighton, Evan Margolin and Scott Ansel of Savills represented the fintech firm in both deals. “My team runs a blog dedicated to financial services firms and office space called HedgeFundSpaces.com and FTP reached out to us via the website,” said Leighton. “We explored all their options and identified their first space at 90 Park, which was a relocation from 641 Lexington.”

In just over a year, they were bursting at the seams, so the Savills team again identified potential relocation alternatives. “Based on recent renovations and its proximity to Grand Central and Penn Station, FTP opted to plant their flag at 90 Park for the foreseeable future,” Leighton said.

The Vornado Realty Trust building was repped in-house by Jared Silverman and Ryan Levy. The asking rent is in the high $80’s per foot, sources said.
