Milton Glaser, the inventor of the I ♥  NY logo, is selling his charming townhouse offices in Kips Bay with an asking price of $12 million.

Adelaide Polsinelli of Compass is marketing the 10,000-square-foot Beaux Arts building at 207 E. 32nd St. that was designed by Robert T. Lyons for the Tammany Central Association. Glaser bought it in 1965 as the first home for New York magazine, which he founded with the legendary Clay Felker.

“Art is Work” is etched on the glass transom over its front door while two stone lions growl down from its mansard roof.

Although small by New York standards, it is a four-story brick-and-limestone island surrounded by open space, giving it the light on all sides that was favored by the artist.

“It would be good for architects, artists, medical, institutional, life science research offices or even a magnificent home,” suggested Polsinelli.

If the building sells for $12 million, unfortunately, it will bump its New York state tax to $78,000, up from $48,000.
