Abercrombie & Fitch may be falling into the Gap.

The onetime darling of the suburban preppie is considering a move to Gap’s former spot at 680 Fifth Ave. on the southwest corner of West 54th Street, sources say, where 33,800 square feet of space is available on four levels.

Abercrombie, which has 50,000 square feet on eight levels at 720 Fifth Ave., has another year left on its lease with Jeff Sutton, giving it plenty of time to right-size and redecorate.

Documents show its current space includes more than 50,000 square feet on the ground, plus two lower levels along with the second through fifth and eighth floors.

As first reported by The Post’s Steve Cuozzo, Gap closed the Fifth Avenue store in December along with over 100 others around the country.

Laura Pomerantz at Cushman & Wakefield is heading 680 Fifth’s retail leasing team, which includes Steve Soutendijk, Sean Moran and Molly Sandza.

Brad Wolk, Susan Kurland and Victoria Oliva of Savills represent Abercrombie in New York.

The good news here is that, while Abercrombie may be downsizing, it is still focused on Fifth Avenue and would remove another vacant storefront. It would also undoubtedly update its store with more experiential spaces, technology and Instagram-able designs. Last year, the company exceeded $1 billion in internet sales.

An A&F spokeswoman emailed: “We do not comment on market rumor. For your information, we have an A&F and an abercrombie kids store located at 720 Fifth Avenue and a Hollister store, which also carries our Gilly Hicks brand at 668 Fifth Avenue.”

Cushman and Savills declined to comment.
