Champion is coming to Soho.

The division of HanesBrands has leased its first Manhattan store at 434 Broadway on the northeast corner of Howard Street.

According to CoStar, the space has 4,903 square feet on the ground and 2,218 square feet on the lower level.

The space was previously a Muji store, which moved up the block and across Broadway.

Jim Downey of Cushman & Wakefield represented the tenant. His C&W colleagues, Andrew Kahn and Christian Stanton, negotiated on behalf of the Savanna Investment Management ownership.

Retail rents in this famous corridor of Broadway dropped sharply this past spring from a year ago, according to the Real Estate Board of New York. They are now under $600 a square foot — but still higher than in much of New York City.

“Savanna is pleased to welcome Champion to 434 Broadway as they prepare to celebrate the 100th anniversary of their brand,” said Thomas Farrell, who serves as managing director of Savanna Investment Management.
