The Fashion Institute of Technology is expanding to 52,652 square feet at 236 W. 27th St. and re-jiggering its space.

The college swapped out the 11th floor for the fourth floor and leased the entire ground floor retail space of 6,285 square feet.

It will now occupy the contiguous space in the basement, on the ground, mezzanine and floors two through five plus the majority of the sixth floor. It previously occupied just 45,391 square feet.

David Koeppel, John Goodkind and Max Koeppel of Koeppel Rosen represented the Rosen family ownership in the transaction.

According to Goodkind, the 11th floor is available July 1 with an asking rent of $53 per square foot.

Michael Kaufman of the Kaufman Organization represented the tenant, which has created a campus-like setting along West 27th Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues.

Other tenants include the digital agency Beyond, the public info designers, Two Twelve, and photographer David Prince.
