Famed restaurateur Danny Meyer is close to a deal to run a new events space at the top of 28 Liberty St., The Post has learned.

Meyer is the force behind the Union Square Cafe, Gramercy Tavern and The Modern, among others. He also owns Union Square Events, which is poised to become the operator for the yet-to-be named space on the 60th floor of the former One Chase Manhattan Building.

The office tower was renamed by Chinese conglomerate Fosun International, which paid $725 million for the building in 2013 and is investing another $150 million in renovations.

The top floor was the bank’s private conference center and dining floor. With a center core, 15-foot ceilings and all-around windows, it has 360 degree views.

The restaurant won’t be open to the public but will serve as a catering and events space and supply victuals to the office tenants.

George Shea, who’s a spokesman for both Fosun and JLL, declined to comment, while reps for Meyer did not respond to requests.
