The newly developed and eagerly anticipated Viceroy New York  at 120 W. 57th St. is being purchased by American Realty Capital New York Recovery REIT for $148.5 million, which equals $615,000 per key.

When it opens in early October, its 240 rooms, designed by Roman and Williams will be managed by the Viceroy Hotel Group and cost upward of $599 per night.

The architects behind the Standard and the Ace made this dark building more like a man cave with dark woods and brass fixtures. At the street, the Gerber Group has Chef Marc Murphy to lead the food in its restaurant, Kingside.

NYRR is also buying a preferred equity stake in the 27-story, 513,000 square foot 123 William St. for $40 million.

The deal for the properties, announced Tuesday, was made without brokers.

The Viceroy was developed and is being sold by ARK Real Estate, which has a temporary Certificate of Occupancy but still has 17 open items to get a permanent one, according to city records.
