The Sumitomo Corp. of America is finally expanding at 300 Madison Ave. once it relocates from the narrower 600 Third Ave.

The move also allows the Japanese trading house to consolidate on two floors after being spread across seven floors.

Earlier this year, SCOA inked a 98,454-square-foot, 11-year sublease from CIBC for the entire third and fourth floors of 300 Madison at E. 42nd Street.

The company will move from its current 74,000 square feet into its new digs in November.

The 35-story, 1.1 million- square-foot office building was to be developed by Harry Macklowe but Brookfield Office Properties bought the site, added to the assemblage and completed the job designed by architects Skidmore Ownings & Merrill.

Tenant Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce had leased the entire building but quickly subleased 800,000 square feet to PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Marc Shapses, Michael L. Goldman, Kunihiko “Key” Otomo and Joe Messina represented Sumitomo in the transaction. Sarah Pontius of Brookfield represented both the sub-landlord, CIBC Delaware Holdings, and Brookfield.
