The World Financial Center moniker will be retired next fall in favor of Brookfield Place, the owners said yesterday.

Mitch Rudin, President & CEO, US Commercial Operations of Brookfield Office Properties, told The Post the name change will coincide with an evolution in Downtown’s tenant mix — with more tech and media outfits joining the population of financial firms.

“It will continue to reflect trophy offices in a unique environment with retail, arts and entertainment,” Rudin said.

The company already owns similar Brookfield Place complexes in Toronto and in Perth, Australia.

Brookfield will have nearly 3 million square feet of office space to lease starting in 2014. The Commercial Observer reported yesterday the executives believe the new name and building addresses should be more attractive to nonfinancial tenancies.

The address changes are: 1 WFC to become 200 Liberty; 2 WFC to 225 Liberty; 3 WFC to 200 Vesey; and 4 WFC to 250 Vesey.

The changes will take place along with the completion of the renovation programs and provide time for businesses to order new stationery, Rudin added.

The Winter Garden name will remain, but its new glass entry and renovated retail pavilion will have the address 100 West St.

The underground corridor will open next year and lead to the World Trade Center buildings.
