EBay is the latest tech company to stake out Big Apple office space with an eye on attracting talent.

The auction site and its balance sheet beat out a slew of techies to lease a full 35,000 square-foot floor at 625 Ave. of the Americas in the Flatiron/Ladies’ Mile area.

The San Jose, Calif.-based company is calling the space the eBay Technology Center of Excellence. It will house 200 employees.

The deal includes exclusive access to an elevator-served roof deck, expansion options and even a flag on the pole by its third-floor offices.

Freddie Fackelmayer, Sacha Zarba and Ben Friedland of CBRE repped eBay in its search, while Ross Eisenberg led a Cushman & Wakefield team that represented the ownership. Asking rents in that corridor are running from $45 to more than $60 a square foot due to the high tech demand and small number of suitable spots.

The open plan build-out will include a PayPal Shopping Showcase, a tech incubator and event space. Hunch, which eBay bought last year, will move in later this fall along with new hires.
