Global brokerage CB Richard Ellis has just been hired to market the late Leona Helmsley’s Park Lane Hotel with what sources say is a price tag of at least $800 million.

The Post reported last month that Helmsley’s estate was putting the 46-story tower on Central Park up for sale soon, and that representatives for the estate had been interviewing local investment brokers for the assignment.

Target buyers could include condo converters as well as several overseas luxury hotel chains that have been scouring the city for prime locations.

CBRE beat out what was believed to be a number of firms vying to handle the sale.

Until her death last summer at 87, Helmsley lived in a palatial suite at the Park Lane with her pampered pooch Trouble. When the so-called Queen of Mean died, the hotel was among a batch of properties that went into a trust controlled by her heirs.

Helmsley estate spokesman Howard Rubenstein had no comment, nor did CBRE’s spokesman.

Whoever buys the 1970s-era tower is likely to have to undertake major renovations. The tower, built in 1971, has a façade of travertine and glass with arched windows at its base.
